Summitt diagnosed with onset of dementia
Tennessee Volunteers women’s basketball coach Pat Summitt has been diagnosed with the onset of dementia, a precursor to Alzheimer’s.
Summitt felt that her behavior in recent months had been erratic and decided to go see doctors at the famed Mayo Clinic, at which time the diagnosis was made.
Summitt said that she will continue to coach and certainly does not want a pity party thrown for her.
It’s a shocking announcement given that Summitt is just 59-years old and in good shape. It’s not typically a condition linked to people so young. (Read More…)
